Well she wouldn't having never met you?

And frankly name any worthwhile drama that got away with a lousy two parter.
It pains me to think of you sitting at your keyboard crying with frustration that you can't type.
"Sooty was right."

Seriously Sooty, what the f**k are you on about? Why would I type; "Sooty was right." About what? That the Robots of Death is badly written? That some Star Trek toss is good? That I've never met your mum? That I can't write?

And I don't understand your 'two-parter' question. You want me to name a good drama that was in two parts?

All of the above

None of the above

Okay.

The episode was pretty good.
Definitely the best by Gatiss, and best of the semi series so far.

I don't watch Doctor Who but I think this thread is great entertainment.

.. and it they can't be arse sometimes I certainly can't be arse either for no tin! :)

This is the crux of it. The truth is Doctor Who is not a good show. It might ocassionally be entertaining but ultimately it's a poorly written children's show, and spending too much time critiquing it is like critiquing the Scary Movie franchise or Hollyoaks. What's the point?

Because when it's good, when it wakes up and takes it seriously it's just awesome and blows bigger budgeted shows out of the water.

It's just disapointing it does it so rarely and it's crappier episodes are bouyed up; by an TV establisment in the UK that refuses to try to understand scifi and uncritical fanatical fans with low expectations.

I love good telly.

And when was the last time it was really good? Not for a long time. And when they come, the good episodes just feel like blips.

No sadly not for a very long time.

It's an unpopular choice but the closest for me was Dinosaurs on a Space Ship.

But I dunno it's a bit like Stephen King novels. He went through that awful slump; Rose Madder, Insomnia (first SK book I didn't finish). And then boom back on form with Bag of Bones.

No matter what dips in quality Stephen King has had, he's always had that ability to tell a story. The same can't be said for Who.

Also, I don't mind Rose Madder or Insomnia!

The truth is Doctor Who is not a good show.

My eyes have been opened.

I'd say Insomnia actually lost that. It was formulaic and diffuse.

Albeit with Rose Madder I always had a theory that he secretly cowrote it with his sone or missus both of whom are not very good writers.

Got annoyed and killed all their nice liberal characters, with the cock biting psycho police officer.

But the current lot the story has gone, that's true it's just so lazy.

If you have nothing constructive to add but sniping from the sidelines say nothing.

Good advice for an actual sniper that.

Ooh, that's me told and no mistake. I like it when you're all masterful.
