Old School Comedy

Hi, a couple of people have said that my sketches tend to be an "old school" type of comedy. What does this mean? (sorry if I sound a bit stupid) lol.

It means "good", rather than "pretentious wank". :)

They probably mean that it's actually funny, with gags n such, rather than relying on social faux pas and "clever" observations about society and blah blah blah.

Laughing out loud

I kinda agree though.

Old School is how comedy was before the 'alternative' comics came along. Its a bit more complicated than that but thats it in a nutshell.

I'm drinking a pint of C2 in a beastro pub I'll have you know.

No I can't even joke about that, it's Stella.

Not that Paul, THAT Paul.

But still, unnervingly accurate either way!

I ditto everything here. And the thing about the avatar. Quite telling. (And not in a bad way.) :)

I thought it was a Heather Mills sketch and that 'Paul' was being post modern :P

It keeps me warm when the ladies won't! :D

Yes I have been reading your sketches and I really do like them. I have not responded to them because many of them were so far back in the postings. Good stuff. I would say old school is a complement.

If you had to ask what old school is, you're probably not old enough to qualify for old school. But this thread has been very good, Aaron got the nail on the head.
