I admit, it's a bit of an experiment to write something so niche.

Have you thought of shrinking some down to a more gnomic 100 words?

Don't know how much I could say in that amount of words. Have been reducing the word count as I've gone on though.
It's competition time over at Eighties Draper as Don promises to pitch the very best of your '80s product suggestions...
It's professional in its lay out and you have clearly spent time & effort on it and as it is in Showcase in I am hesitant to say to much.
Perhaps its the audience not the product? If you posted it on Ad Men type sites it could take off.
But for me it is not comprehensive enough and is reliant on the reader having an in depth knowledge of the subject matter and that is drifting to near to what is loosely termed as 'Railway Enthusiasm' for comfort.
In short it could be niche gold, but you won't know that until you post it on a kindred spirit site.

Thanks for your input, Teddy.
It's a bit of a tightrope really, if I try to appeal to the masses by being comprehensive I risk generalising and losing the interest of actual Mad Men fans. In the end I decided to focus on the folk who watch the show, which is why I chose to dot story and character references into the pitches.
So far the blog's proved relatively successful among fans - over 5000 unique views to date and already adapted into a magazine article. I can't say for sure if going the other way would have proved more popular though, but the bed's been made at this point.
5000 hits is reason enough to continue, but for promoting it I would advise a more pro active approach on relative platform and a just a simple link on this site.
This is good David. Maybe I would lose the descriptive bits and just have the straight pitch as dialogue... but I'm not writing it. New series on v soon

I didn't get that many hits just by hitting up people on this site, I've posted on a couple of dozen boards (mostly Mad Men specific ones) plus every social media platform that'll have me. So far the comments section of the AV Club has served me best, though I'm always on the lookout if anyone can think of somewhere I might have missed...

Thanks, Marc. New series started last Sunday, at least for those of us who don't mind hooking our laptops up to our TVs. Hopefully once it starts proper over here I'll earn some more UK fans, because right now they're only making up 4% of my audience.
Sorry Dave, I like most of the things that you do, but this just Doesn't cut the mustard with me bro, its like the "office" and "Suits" all rolled into one.

Fair enough. Out of curiosity, Nigel, do you watch Mad Men?
Yeah, and I am quite a fan of Matthew Weiner, the man pretty much responsible for the creation of "Mad Men" and he had a lot to do with the "Sopranos" too.
Please don't get me wrong Dave, I like what you have done, but its just not for me.

Ha, that's fine, I just wanted to know if you were coming at this one as a fan of the show or someone who hasn't seen it.

Hey, I might be a c**t, but I'm not a f**kin c**t!
This week Don pitches for Garbage Pail Kids.
