Noticed yesterday that BBC4 have gone right into airing Season 2.

Couldn't resist in jumping ahead to the next couple of episodes. Marvellous episode coming up, next Weds I think, with visitation from Venezuelans.

Yes
With a nice turn from Fred Armisen
Also from Saturday Night Live

Much like Modern Family, or The American Office, I don't really look too closely at the documentary trappings, as if you do it doesn't make any sense. Anne is definitely a weak character.

I'd say if you got to the end of Season 2 and you don't like it, you're not going to be turned by carrying on, really.

I flouted your advice and am really enjoying Season 3. Anne has, mercifully, been marginalised and there's much more of Ansari and Pratt. This, in episode 14, was brilliant:

I've spotted Louis CK and Loudon Wainwright in cameos so far.

Louis CK was dating Leslie in the early seasons before she began a relationship with Ben in the later seasons.

He makes a couple of appearances in the later series, but for a couple of episodes only.

2 more episodes left in series 5 and this continues to be one of the best sitcoms on TV. Just one solid episode after another.

That was great Laughing out loud

One of my favs here, "you've got to end on the rhyme!"

I love the sex scandal council man. I hope he pops up again.

Everyone's favourite Parks and Rec secondary character made his return last night at the season 5 finale Bert Macklin.

This is brilliant - easily one of my favourite current shows.

However, having only got to early in series 2, does April get more central (or ditched) later on? Very strange to have a character who has no relevance to any plots and never has any of the best lines. So far, she's just wasting time that could be spent on the best characters or milking the plots for more laughs. Weird standout 'fail' in an otherwise great show.

Central I think
Can't remember, she's alright.

Yes she is used more. Also, she is awesome.

I also like April very much. Of course she usually doesn't add much to the plot, but when she has a scene or a line, it's usually great. One of the funniest scenes from the whole series, for example, was the beauty pageant episode, where she talks about her multiple "talents": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDY0KtBcuVI

April's and Andy's characters for that matter take a totally different direction by season 3 I believe it is that their characters take a different direction.

I don't want to go into detail to spoil it for you.

They're personally two of my favourite Parks and Rec characters now despite the fact they were annoying in the beginning.

It seems bizarre to single April out as a character who's shoehorned in when Rashida Jones basically has no real reason to be there until somewhere near the end of season 3.
