Sharia song

The Archbishop of Canterbury sings a song about Sharia to the tune of my Favourite Things

Covered up women and stoning for whores
Cutting off hands and archaic laws
The infidel captured and tied up with strings
These are a few of my Sharia things

Reading the Qu’ran and frowning on dancing
Praising Mohammed and Islam advancing
Beheading heathen and all that it brings
These are a few of my Sharia things

Girls in black burkas wearing no make-up
Telling the legal system it needs a shake up
Laughing at women who think that it mings
These are a few of my Sharia things

When our law bites
When the law stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my Sharia things
And then I don’t feel so bad

Laughing out loud

Nice one!

Excellent, AJP.

*claps*

"I simply remember my Sharia things"! Funny.

Think you could be more creative with this bit, maybe (espeically as it's at the end) :
When our law bites
When the law stings
When I’m feeling sad

Not sure about this line either:
Laughing at women who think that it mings

I can't tell if it scans properly or not because I can't really remember the song.

Keep thinking of that bloody car advert now.
Funny song, anyway.

Thanks for all the comments.

I was a bit restricted on the rhyming as I was going to use 'things' so theres not alot of words I could use. The last verse is meant to show that women in general think that it 'mings' that theres even talk of making Sharia part of UK law. Also its meant to be the Archbishop singing so i'd thought it would be funny that he says mings.

I agree on the last bit James but again cos of the song's tune and original lyrics its very restricting :(

It's good blast you, I was hoping to get the Treason slot for this tonight.

It's way better than my Rowan Williams as a suicide bomber sketch

Laughing out loud Very, very good Adam. Laughing out loud

Pity Spitting Image or 2dtv wasn't still on the telly.

I reckon you could do at least another couple of verses.

Well done, AJP. It's funny and it scans like a beast.

I'll qoute your ass off!

Comedy songs are generally as welcome as piles but this one scans tip-top, is funny, and doesn't outstay it's welcome. Great work, well done.

Only improvement I could think of would be to get the archbishop into the finale somehow.

:D You have to follow this up with "How do we solve a problem like Sharia?"

Okay, maybe not...
