Sitcom Stars in the charts

Many sitcom stars have found themselves in the charts. Some very succesful, such as Windsor Davies and Don Estelle (Stars of It Aint Half Hot Mum) singing Whispering Grass, which got to number one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=10dmK7O-KSY

But who remembers the duos second song to enter the charts that year, by the name of Paper Doll, which didn't do a Whispering Grass and get to number one, it got to number forty-one.

And most (in)famously of all who remembers Hylda Baker and Arthur Mullard singing Grease. Here is a video of its feature on 100 Greatest TV Moments from Hell of the song which is hilariously funny, but I'm laughing at Baker and Mullard because it is so shocking: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-niwpfm90nQ

Watch it, it is hilarious.

What about the Young Ones hit.

The Goodies. Obviously!

Oh yes, I remember that one, where Rik picks his nose. Have you watched the Hylda Baker one?

I didn't know she picked her nose.

I rememver Hilda and Arthur on TOTP and really the performance was terrible. I don't think he had any idea about the original.

Wendy Richard of Are you being served fame did a song called *Come Outside* with Mike Sarne I think.

You're right. A bit of slap and tickle eh?

No no, Rik picked his nose on the Young Ones hit.

Samantha Janus?

Samantha Janus?

A message to your heart.

Just don't mention Dennis Waterman. "Write the theme toon, sing the theme toon"

He could be so good for you.

Apparently he lives near me. In a flat above a bakery and a cobblers, no less.

Has anyone noticed Dennis Waterman's horse-like veneers?

Of course David Essex was fairly successful musically and did star in some bloody whimsical piece of shit sitcom set on a canal boat sometime in the 1980's, which I'm sure Aaron will know the title of off-by-heart, but I can't even be bothered to google it. :)

You want to know the saddest thing? You're right. :(

It was called The River.

I thought that was Bruce Springsteen.
