Doctor Who... Page 933

Damien Molony for the next Doctor, please.

Quote: Matthew Stott @ March 22 2013, 7:01 PM GMT

Though there were books, comics and audio stuff. It didn't sit untouched, stories were still being written and told, just not in its proper medium.

There was merchandising - and a lot of fan-originated stuff but the show wasn't made. It's not the fiftieth anniversary of the show by any definition, it's just fifty years since the first one was made.

It's fitting that the celebratory programmes should air in the year that the BBC leave television centre and Ray Cusick dies. It shows up how hollow it all is.

YOU'LL EAT YOUR WORDS SOME DAY!

No, you've got a good chance they'll cast him - or some similar man-shaped bimbo vacuum.

But I don't have to like it.

I shall assume you've never seen him in anything and are judging him based purely on looks.

Put my perfect choice aside, for it obviously intimidates you with its awesomeness. Who would be your ideal next Doctor?

Actually I was judging you. :D

I assumed you fancied him.

I don't think the Doctor should be a romantic lead - he wasn't prior to Tennant. I also don't think the Doctor should be in his twenties. Matt Smith manages to somehow make it work - presumably because he's physically very much a one off.

I haven't spent any time thinking about who the Doctor 'should be' but he should be around forty years old, which is the age Tom Baker was when he took the role.

I always wanted Mark Gatiss. I know, I know, you don't like him either. But I can certainly see the appeal of an older Doctor.

I bet £10 the next will either be black or a woman but not a black woman.

Well that can't work at all. Damien Molony is neither black nor a woman.
He is an Irish though.

His eyes scare me.

Looking forward to this next weekend.
And by this I mean Stott Vs Godot part 56
(this time it's still about Dr Who)

Stott doesn't talk to me anymore. It's going to be even more one-sided than usual.

Well yes, it's fifty years since the first episode was made, so they're celebrating that.

I'm afraid you'll be left disappointed, sorry.

Just the gang; you, Marc P and Chipolata, laying down some hard truth.

Whatever happened to that Who movie they were talking about a while back? I'd be quite interested to see a reboot that ditches all the TV series and starts again from scratch with an origin story.

Not sure it can strictly be called a prequel, as it's out before the actual episode, but here's this short thing for the new series:
