The Goodies - best episode/scene?

Having watched them all on YouTube, their real stand-out sequence, for me, was the three way duel on the movie set between Tim, Graham and Bill, and Tim's ancient costume drama cast, Graham's western actors, and Bill's old-fashioned silent comedy actors.

What's your favourite bit of theirs?

I have a few standout favourites, but the 1976 episode where they satirised the advertising world was my all-time favourite. When we saw it in the late eighties, my friends and I couldn't stop singing the String jingle at school.

My name is Jill Riddick.

I was the protagonist of the 1970 episode of The Goodies called "Cecily"

I was pointed here by an archive television podcast.

Nice to meet you all.

Do you have any interesting anecdotes about the filming of that?

Just watched this episode on You Tube; I have no recollection of having seen it before.

You were very good. :)

The "Sex and Violence" with Beryl Reid as Mrs Carthorse. "Disgusting"...

It was difficult. The actors playing Cecily's aunt and uncle seemed uncomfortable working with a child actress. Also when you have a studio audience, you're not sure whether you should be acting to the camera or to the audience.

The Goodies Rule OK special

The aunt later appeared in Fawlty Towers - as the wife of the twitching colonel. Cecily was perhaps as close as The Goodies ever came to being scary (when viewed as a very small child) - mainly because of the spooky gloved hands in the clock.

Now with The Beatles music deleted for the DVD release.

Sounds cool to me, a good place to hide Jeeves...

None of it. Rubbish.
