Ha! Certainly would be interesting.
I'd rather see their bromance explored further though, to be honest. 
I think their relationship is about the most interesting thing in the show.
And certainly Dougie is the funniest.

Well I'm assuming that if 'they' watched the pilot, ep1 & 2 that they should know by then if they like it or not and if they don't like it just turn it off.

Seriously, though... the answer is because people want to. It's just rather insulting to suggest the 'fault' lies with the viewer: If you don't think it's funny you don't get it, if you don't appreciate half a sheep in a tank you don't appreciate art... and so on.
Some people don't think it's funny, some do and everything in between. I think it's 'safe to say' you couldn't tell me any comedy from any time that 'everybody' would like.
One because I'm married and two because the restraining order prevents me from contacting him.
I know it's not going to please everyone and there never will be a programme that will and I'm not blaming the viewer each to their own. I don't like Hollyoaks but I don't watch it and then get so angry about it I take to an internet forum to criticise it I just watch something else.
