How To Be Pathetic Podcast

Hello there.

I recorded a podcast back in August of last year but I never got round to building a website and uploading it so it only existed on YouTube.

I really want to get back into this and start making a podcast every month or so and get it up on the ol' itunes.

Can you guys please have a listen to my first episode and tell me if it's continuing this project?

I'm very embarrassed and feel ashamed of myself but I've got a positive review off a friend the other day and that gave me back some confidence.

Why are you whispering?

I think you have potential. It's not the sort of thing I'd listen to but compared to other attempts I've heard, yours is a better one.

The material isn't great but I'm not really sure what you're aiming for, maybe another person would love this, it's all a bit Alan Bennet.

Keep going, try your stuff in front of an audience so you can sharpen it all up a bit. But good try.

I appreciate you listening and providing with some useful feedback
:)

I wasn't whispering, was it hard to make out? I may have to tinker with my microphone settings if that is the case.

Any advice on getting better material to cover? Also, Never heard of Alan Bennett so can't really comment on that one.

Just keep practising and listen to feedback. Some bits will work better than others and your listeners will let you know, hopefully and then you can build on those bits. Being in front of an audience is your quickest way to learn this.

Youtube him, he's like the King of what you're doing.

I agree with Lee, you have great potential. The audio quality is excellent and I happen to like the quiet delivery tone - its very personal. You need to decide where you're going with the material? Is there a story mapped out to be unfurled through the podcasts. I could envisage some realtime flashbacks added to the audio with some simple special effects to help you tell the stories and take the listener back to the moment.
I'm also a great fan of Wordpress, perhaps you could build some website content to provide more information about Cameron's history so we can get to know him more and put his story into context.
But the material is going to be everything - there will need to be a reason for listeners to want to be drawn back to the next podcast. If it's comedy drama, you've got to tell a compelling story.

Thanks Alison!

I am definitely going to add more story to it and one you can also follow with developments.

I am also going to tweak that WordPress site, it's very basic at the moment but only because I've not had the time to do much on it.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I liked that too. It was just surprising that something so important to the piece {it's audio) was so quiet.

Keep it the same or louder? I'm confused.

Keep the quiet tone but project more, darling.
