Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe - Series 1 Page 10

Maybe Charlie's just weary? He's immersed himself in this stuff for so long it's just worn him down to a nub. It must be hard to get angry or even care after a bit.

He should do something different, then. Not try to do something he doesn't have the heart for anymore.

He's got to make a living. There's Konnie to feed.

The Cloud Atlas bit stood out as being actually funny and original.

The Pistorius thing was dismal, I mean satirise the news or report it, don't just half arsedly sneer at it.

And it went on so long I ended up hitting fast forward.

Philomena Cunk is the only bit I find myself laughing at - it is basically the same shizzle as Barry Shitpeas but she succeeds in making it funny.

It's her silly accent.

We're certainly spoiled in this country when it comes to genius, laser-precision comedians, satirists and writers....

Chris Morris
Armando Iannucci
Peter Baynham
Steve Coogan
Rob Brydon
Stewart Lee
Charlie Brooker
Sacha Baron Cohen

I hear one of those guys isn't just brilliant, but he's also quite the heart breaker.

Philomena Cunk is consistantly my favourite bit every week. Surely Diane Morgan and Joe Wilkinson have done enough to get a Two Episodes of Mash TV series. At least a pilot.

Is tonights episode a highlights show as reported elsewhere? If so, that's poor.

Oh goody! Because the news wasn't old enough first time around!

I don't get the recent BBC thing of doing highlights for the last episode in a 6 or 8 part series. Is it for amnesiacs?

My guess is that it's for accountants; a highlights show is halfway to being a repeat.

It does indeed appear that tonight's show is a highlights compilation. How very disappointing.

Has the series finished now, then?
Greatest Hits compilations normally come at the end of the run.

Utter shit. I expect 6 proper episodes before any highlight programme. Very disappointing that that's it for the series.

Put that in your newsletter and smoke it.

@charltonbrooker "Tonight's Weekly Wipe, BBC2 10pm, is a very special edition (a comp). It has some new stuff in it though, before you burn us at the stake."

Too late, joke-witch!
