Thank you very much.

A bit worried today...have to accompany my mother to an eye operation.

What, your mother is an eye surgeon and you have to help her! :O

Bloody NHS cutbacks....

There's no NHS in Switzerland...we have to pay a certain percentage ourselves.

L.E. has a wedding date... a long long way off.

Hurray! Do you have a location yet?

Ouch. Good luck, Gordon's mum.

Tried to buy some lino for the kitchen this morning and it turned into a most depressing experience. The man serving was a very dour Scotsman and after all his tales of doom and gloom re what might happen when the old lino comes up and if it's not level it'll be another £200 and the fitters won't know what to expect...blah, blah, blah...I almost expected him to say 'there's been a muurrder'.
He managed to talk himself out of a sale the muppet.

This is the stuff you want.

Bit beyond my budget I'd say Lazzard judging by the fact they don't even show the prices anywhere!

In my car eating sandwiches and listening to the radio. Going to the warehouse in a minute for a spot of male bonding as I'm the only male in my office. And can only take so much.

I envy that ability to male bond in a warehouse as I've always got on better with women in real life. Women and slightly damaged males.

Done. And all went very well.

Yay! Geek

On two previous occasions I've announced my intention to write a book and both ideas or still very much welded to the drawing board. Today, my friends, I can confirm that a third idea is in place but the difference this time is that it's already motoring along and I am about 5000 words in.

After reading the Phill Jupitus book, 'Good Morning Nantwich', which told the story of his life involved in radio, I thought I could justifiably do the same. Obviously my star status isn't as bright as his, and I wouldn't be holding my breath as to it being picked up by a publisher, but I have enough tales to justify self-publishing. If nothing else it's a family document I can give to the kids.

It's two years since I originally approached the station and a lot has happened in that time. Not only can I cover what it's like to be presenter and all that entails but there are some pretty amazing back stories too. There's some stuff I don't even dare alude to at the moment because there's a fair chance it would get vetoed before publication but that won't stop me trying.

That said, I'd be hard pushed to write something based on just 50 shows when for 95% of them I've been essentially on my own in the studio. I have hob-nobbed with a star but it hardly justifies a whole book about it. For this reason I'm also covering my listening habits going right back to when I was a kid and that nostalgia aspect will ring bells for many a reader.

My goal is to at least have finished the copy by the time I reach the second anniversary of my show on October 13th. Where we go from there is anyone's guess.

Oh how I laughed today when the overhead sign on the motorway said 'Stationery traffic ahead.'

Then I hit the back of a WH Smith lorry . . . . . .

Good luck with this Tuumby. You could pad out a chapter talking about all your BCG chums.
