Zooo, why all these attempts to breed conflict between the sexes!
Why can't we all just get along!

I think for a lot of low paid and lower end jobs pay is roughly equal between the sexes. As you move up the ladder to executives then I suspect their is a discrency. Although you'll forgive me if I don't lose too much sleep over the bank balances of executives and company directors.

Not sure what It's like in The UK but here in Aus, if you do a casual job like working in a shop the pay can beslightly higher if you are 21 or over. Always thought this was a bit unfair on people 18-20 as they would often be doing exactly the same job.

I started one of these jobs when I was about 21. when I first started the guy in charge of one of shifts I worked was about two years younger than me. So while he was training me up and running the place, I was earning more money than he was.

Who's this abusive and - yes! - hurtful image directed at, zooo? All my argument is that if you're at the bottom of the heap life's equally shitty whether you're a man or a woman.

But too often on the BCG feminism seems to be represented by a discussion on somebody being beastly about a female celebrity.

It's a shame to hear you think that but I'm not going to not say someone's being out of order if that's what I think. That applies to sexism of both genders, racism, inequality of any factor in society. The vast majority of times on BCG that someone is putting forward views that to my mind are bullying or creepy towards women are when they're shown through someone's comments about a female celebrity.
Sorry if you find it dull or irrelevant (especially as you are one of the nice guys) but how we all speak about others is how we build a shared notion of what is okay in society. Saying certain things about an individual, whether famous or female or otherwise, indicates that that is one of the ways that we've agreed is okay to speak and think about others, especially those with shared identifying characteristics such as gender or race or income. When I personally don't agree with what's being said I'll bloody well say so.

I entirely agree that if somebody says something cretinous they should be called to account. I guess what I object to is when a mildly moronic post or joke that backfires is used as a basis to prove some wider point like all men are sexist bastards etc. No, it's just an idiotic post. We all make them from time to time.

I see cellophane woman is again at the top of the page.

I hate her, alot.

Of course. I acknowledge I probably quite often come across as a twat in a variety of ways and I trust that my mates will try to interpret those posts in the spirit in which they were intended, or be forgiving if I'm in a grumpy or stressing or insecure mood. I'm still telling people they're out of order if they seem to be chatting out of order though!

Lol, don't make me post another haters gonna hate picture!

I can't see whats wrong with nakedness in the arts. And talking, singing and interprenting dancing about it freely.

Should we cover up the venus boobs? And the penis of michalangelos? And forbid people to talk about it?

When female activist like pussy riot is using their boobs to get their political message out, should we then look the other way.

Personally, I don't want to see Michelangelos willy.
