I keep reading some suggestion that Seth called Anne Hathaway a c**t? Obviously can't have been on the actual show. Americans throw a wobbly if you use the word crap on mainstream telly.

I f**king love boobs. :D

If that's all it was doing it wouldn't have called out individuals by name and wouldn't have included a sort of 'well done for keeping your top on' for Jennifer Lawrence.

She took it that way, but it could've easily have been that he was sad that he hadn't seen her boobs yet, as they looked rather nice...

I quite like them, too. But there are better ways to demonstrate your fondness for them!

But that's what MacFarlen does; he does it on Family Guy most weeks.

I don't think it's Seth MacFarlane's responsibility to do anything other than lampoon some Hollywood egos and hope they take it in good sport. No one has to get their boobs out, or at least I hope they don't.

I'm a little perturbed that you refuse to recognise that that song was quite humiliating for at least 2 women in that audience, and I expect that it was quite embarrassing for all of the women mentioned. Whatever Macfarlane intended to do is irrelevant as the outcome was the naming and shaming of actresses. Just because some people agree with the sentiment, or laugh at the joke doesn't mean it's the kind of thing that should be said.

I notice about this place that there is a view that as long as a joke is funny nothing else matters.

That would be why you see an equal amount of naked women in hollywood films as naked men? It might not be at gun point, but there is a societal/cultural coercion.

They can choose not to be an actress, rather than get their tits out. It's not like female doctors have to sleep their way through medical school. It's not a life or death situation. If their own morals were strong enough, they'd rather starve for their art than give in. It's as necessary for them to do it, as it is to be seen.

I'm guessing/hoping the women whose faces they showed were in on the joke and looking stony faced on purpose...?

Otherwise it's too cringey to contemplate.

Not saying this is correct or incorrect, but Hollywood/Showbusiness is a sham driven by publicity. I don't take it for granted that the women in the audience were offended or that they hadn't already cleared it. They looked annoyed/upset, but they're actors after all. Who knows? But if you're worried about people saying you get your breasts out, don't do it. I don't hear Jenny Agutter complaining.

I don't see this as the case.

That's the most depressing and disappointing thing I've read in a very long time.

And I bet your misconstruing what I meant.

I'm not saying they should get their tits out or quit. I'm saying that it's not necessary for them to do it when a director asks. If he insists, they can walk away. I'm sure Transformers 4 will find someone else willing to pop em out.

Not misconstruing anything. You've made your viewpoint quite clear and it depresses the hell out of me.

Even if an actor was naked in a film and was fine with that, that's their work. It doesn't mean it's fine to sing songs at them about their tits or shout I've seen your boobs at them in the street or something. Work's work.

But anyway, I do think they were acting pissed off and were in on the joke in this case.

Haha! So let me get this straight. You'd rather an actress whore herself for parts? You think it's better that Mariyln Monroe probably had to blow her way to the top? See, I always thought that was a negative thing. If I was an actress and got my dream role in the big summer hit but only if I got my tits out for the part and didn't want to, I'd refuse and then work a few more independent films until my acting talents landed me roles, instead of my jugs.

But different strokes'!
