You don't have much understanding. Mantel didn't attack Middleton's looks, she said she was lacking in personality and had been chosen by a committee. She was contrasting her in a lecture with Anne Boleyn who was more her own woman in Mantel's view.

You don't need an executive Presidential system. There wouldn't be a conflict if you are a constitutionally bound ceremonial president like Ireland. There have had some dullards but the better ones like the two Marys didn't come from a party poltical background.
If you get the job right like the Queen they can stay around for life if that's what people wanted.
If you get some idiot like Prince Charles as head of state well we can boot them out after a single term.
