Ah, yes, I remember Gerrard turning Chelsea down for that reason.

I see Arsenal have missed out on another trophy. Assuming they don't win the Champions League, that'll be 8 years without a trophy. What's the longest that any of the other big teams have gone without a trophy? I can't think what Man Utd's driest run was - there was always an FA Cup every now and then after the 1968 European Cup.

Just checked, Man Utd had a barren run of nine seasons without a trophy after 1968.

Yes, they did, but I'm not counting that as a major honour.

At my school it was pretty much 50:50 Brentford and Chelsea supporters. This season is the first time the two teams have met.

I was hoping to go to this one but my complimentary ticket hasn't arrived... I only wanted to heckle Robben and Ribbery anyway - I hate Bayern. They're scum.

Saw/heard Michael Owen do his punditry and co-commentary thang on MOTD2 on Sunday. A bit over-enthusiastic but if he's told to cool it a bit then he would be worth holding on to.

The biggest shock to me was that Brendan Rogers is shorter than Owen - is that physically possible?

Owen was probably wearing his cowboy boots (not kidding).
