Music Poll for my radio show

This Saturday is the 50th edition of my radio show and to celebrate I'm doing a numbers based chart run down. All bit of fun (nonsense) but I wanted to have a bit of interactivity so I'm doing a poll to decide the number one position in the chart.

Basically I've chosen 20 'popular' songs from the last 50 years that all start with the word 'ONE' and I want people to chose their favourite FIVE. The track that receives the most votes will be played on the show in the #1 position.

Why am I asking for you to choose five? Well, I know that most of the songs on the list are unlikely to win outright but I'm also intrigued to see how all 20 would fare against each other.

To cast your votes go to the following link: http://poll.fm/43jxd

You have up until 9:30pm on Saturday to make your choices with the winning song played at around 9:50pm.

Done.

Why "One"?

It's because it's for the number one position only. I won't be doing a rundown of all 20 songs on the list, this poll applies to the top spot only.

As I said it's a numbers based chart so every position will be filled with a song based on a number - you'll probably be able to guess some of them already. ;)

Ah, that makes more sense.

Done! Good luck with the show!

Thanks Gordon.

I'm a bit annoyed that there's at least two songs that could've put on the list that didn't occur to me until after I published the poll. Oh well, it is only a bit of fun... :)

Yeah, that One Of Us song. Dunno who it's by.

One More Night by Phil Collins. 1 In Ten by UB40. I could, probably, go on. ;)

Phil Collins and UB40 both came to me afterwards it's true - d'Oh!

There were some others which may have been recognisable when you heard them but not when you heard the artist names so I decided to leave those out.

Cher was on there briefly too but I wanted to stick to 20 songs when in actual fact I could've made 25 pretty easily really. In the end I wanted to get a broad mix of styles from the 50 years and whatever your views on those acts they are well known enough and deserving of a place.

one has cast ones vote

You could have taken Elton John's The One...maybe only a minor single in his catalogue but I liked it back in...when was it... 92, or 93?

Voted!

Thank you people.

There were quite a few with One IN the title but I wanted them all to START with the word One. Just looks neater on the page. :)

Nearly had 100 votes cast so far. People like a good music poll so feel free to share. ;)

Will do.

Just voted Tumby.

Where was Hall and Oates 'one on one'?

Ooo, exciting!

It looks like the poll winner is between two songs and both are neck and neck. Third and fourth are very close indeed too with only one song not getting any support whatsoever.
