I think people should concern themselves more with real racial prejudice rather than peoples racial likes and dislikes. If Asians don't like Eastern Europeans, so what? But if Asians won't employ someone in their shops because they are Eastern European then that is bad, bad, bad. I mean, what if we don't need any more plumbers.. eh?
Anyway, those Asian shopkeepers, how many English people do they employ? About one per million? They ought to get a few Welsh behind the counter, the accents similar.. well, they all sound the same to me..

But we are. Doesn't mean we all go around proclaiming "death to the darkies" or anything though, does it? 
The history of mankind is about tribal or mob squabbles, sometimes on a small scale and vice versa. People group together on the basis of race, religion, culture, gender, class etc. Everyone tends to favour those people most like them, it's a natural human tendency. When controlled in a positive way (unions for example) it's the cohesion within society that prevents it falling apart, when uncontrolled (racism, genderism, j-ism) it's bad.
Racism is a two-edged sword. Favouring a person because of their race (positive discrimination) is equally as racist as putting a person down because of their race (negative discrimination). No-one on earth has the balance exactly right, so as Aaron asserts, we are all racist ... to varying degrees.
