The thing is, if people laugh at a bit of a lisp, then by ignoring a bigger speech impediment puts an elephant in the room; we know they would laugh at her, if it was 'allowed'.

F**king hell.

If your so desperate to take the piss out of people - just do it

You seem to want permission and justification

If you want to be an arsehole - go ahead

I really don't think people, other than scumbags, would laugh at her.
And she makes reference to it herself. So it's not totally ignored.

Yes, so they shouldn't be laughing at minor lisps, either. To do so is a lower level of scumbaggery.

If you need help, I'm here for you. I charge just a shit ton per hour though. I mean, I can't even justify the price, I have no qualifications.

Yes, I agree mocking lispers and stutters is also pretty unpleasant.

I used to laugh at disabled people

I used to think they sounded hilarious

I was about 7 years old

Are you?

Some of us wouldn't.

Every liberal

Always a hypocrite.

Francesca Martinez performs on radio 4, and no-one makes fun of her very obvious speech impediment, but people like Jonathan Ross and Chris Ewbank get the piss ripped out of them. Why should it be ok to make fun of mild speech impediments, when it's not ok for more major ones?

Francesca's is an actual disability she heroically struggles with and overcomes, the ultimate compliment is no one else mentions it.

The other 2 are not much more than accents, that add to their character and personality and help them earn shit loads.

Well I would if I got the chance....

Why do Americans always carry groceries home in a paper bag with no handles?

Why would you not want bags with handles?

You always seem em on the telly

Ffs get with the program biatches

Why would you not want bags with handles?

Sometimes handles lure you into a sense of false security and you overload your bag and three minutes later your satsumas end up rolling everywhere.

A paper bag would probably break through the bottom if they didn't hold it underneath. I've no idea why they use paper bags. I would say it's out of consideration for the environment but that seems unlikely.

Paper bags with no handles also allow serial killers to help people back to their car with their shopping.

I suppose that's a definite benefit.
