Does anyone know of any open mic nights in Watford/Herts area?
I've never been to a comedy club before, I've written some material just need to find out if I've got it in me to do it or not

Might I suggest you try going as an audience member first?
I know of one or two comedy nights in Watford but they're both pros only.
So why not just hop on the metro line to fresher field further south?
Yeah I was thinking that, I need to find out what it's like before jumping in head first.
Thanks I'll look into it
You're first couple of gigs will always be tough, take the sting out of it a bit first!
I might do a practice set infront of a coupple of friends first, see how I feel, I enjoy writing, but performing is another story
Yeah, definitely recommend heading into London to try it out after a few visits to an open mic night.
Or if you desire to save a pound or two, do what a mate of mine decided to use for a memorable intro to a potential employee - he printed his CV as a postcard from www.print24.com and sent variety of copies as a professional gradually increasing political campaign. He got invited for the 2nd round, and did was happy about not going door to door..
Yeah, alternatively do what JoCorn suggests.
Oi
Drop us a PM as I know of a pub gig that does all sorts of talent inc comedy and I live very close to you. Lucky Bastard you. X
Hi Ricky,
There are a couple out by you. I think James Beatty runs a couple of gigs out that way. One in Abbots Langley and also one in Hitchin which I don't think is too far. I'm not sure if this one is still going but, there was also a night in Leyton Buzzard run by a guy called John Murphy I think that's not too far from Watford? Also, as one of the others said it may be worth travelling into London as well for some gigs.
If you send us a PM I can probably put you in contact with a few people that gig out that way as well.
All the best,
Jason.
