BBC Transgender Comedy Writing Competition...FFS!! Page 13

...may be losing an audience...

Well, I'm sharing responsibility for that with SootyJ.

This activity of thread was all about MichelleIsIncorrect throwing a hissy anyway, but it looks like she's gone...

People like me are killed almost every day for being trans. People like me in places like america and other countrys can't vote because their government won't recognise their true gender (and can still happen here, but we actually have legal protection, but that doesn't always get sorted before the polls shut) and people like me are refused service in places and refused access to the correct toilets all the time.

Are you single? I have several pre-op and a couple of post-op transgender friends keen for marriage to a Westerner.

This thread IS a fascinating example of what happens when windup artists fight with trolls

Sort of like twilight for twats

I don't think Michelle was a troll or a windup artist, to be fair.

And by implication I'm one the other one both

"Twilight for twats" is such a good line I want to steal it.

This thread is just a tad f**king depressing.

I mean, it started off that way, but it has descended off into something else entirely.

Rather than trans-cended

...worst part of all this is, you have no idea how horrible it is to read a whole thread dedicated to ridiculing people like you.

Trolling? I was poking a hornets nest when I had no chance in hell of changing anyones minds and stopping them being damned horrible. People had a go at me for getting personal but this was personal for me before I wrote my first post.

She males, bangkok lady boys, dickless...the way you talked about me was awful. I had to step in.

Just wanted to say, my outbursts on here were not some kind of trolling fun for me or an intellectual excersize. I was deeply upset about the fact that a group of people I sort of respected (comedy writers) could think so low of me.

Dejavu is it you?

To be honest, I think you have been judged on the tone of your posts, rather than anything else.

The interweb is full of strange postings Michelle. Will you be entering the competition yourself?

Horrific, isn't it?

But at least it isn't "Grandma's House is funny. I like Grandma's House" like 99.99%* of the posts on this forum.

That is an entirely unfair representation of the forum. There are far more posts saying that shows are shit.

My tone? I challenge anyone to keep their cool after stumbling on a thread full of hateful jokes and uninformed none sense about you (before I posted anything). The tone of this thread was bad before I did anything.

"Darling, come to bed"

"I can't...somebody is being wrong ON THE INTERNET"

I have an idea, just trying to get the balance between pleasing my own quixotic urges whilst dealing with the fact that trans people are not exactly thought of as normal by most people. Do have a character who never learned where babies come from :D

Main thing is to concentrate on the story Michelle and let the message be not front of stage if I were you.

Are you being honest there? Really?

Weren't some people doing what lots of people do when faced with a subject that's out of their range of knowledge and scared by it and just taking the piss?

It is a shame really because there will, doubtless, be a number of members or viewers of these forums that will be entering this completion and might have been able to use the opportunity to learn something.

Still... If an endless list of 'funny' words with "trans" in it is any indication of what's likely to be the level of the entries that are submitted then it's got to be worth a go...
