It entertained but the whole thing felt a little underpowered to me. Which seems to be the case for most of these YA books. The need to write about boyfriends and feelings and stuff saps the energy.

I'm guessing you've read all of about 2 YA books.

Watched the film Moon last night on BBC2 and bloody good it was too.

Endorsed by Putters.

Who'd have thought Zowie Bowie would ever turn into a cracking film director.

The thing about Queen Victoria's children. What a nasty self-centred human being she was.

Unpossible. She's been played by both Judi Dench and Emily Blunt: the twin towers of human loveliness.

Saw the The 'Hobbit' yesterday.
Loved it.
And the simpler storyline (as opposed to LOTR) meant my kids could keep up.
Martin Freeman is excellent.
3-D , in the main, was spectacular (not normally a fan).
Only gripe was on the fast panning shots, my middle-aged eyes couldn't keep up.
One old biddy had to leave the cinema complaining of vertigo!

I now feel Judy Dench and Billy Connolly have betrayed me.

Yep. Normally 3-D is unnecessary and even distracting. But this was really good.

That's a proper old skool scifi film like out of the 1970s. I like how slowly, tentaitvely scifi films about ideas, not space battles are just starting to sneak out again.

Dredd. Pretty damned good, I hope they make more and expand the universe a bit. I love to see Judge Death etc. at some point.

The Sweeney's up next. See if I can spot a Cotter.

what channel?

Gives us a shout for the scene where Ray Winsome catches him in the potting shed.

Looking at the amount it made, I'd be surprised if another film was in the offing.

Shame.

Johnny Mnemonic. It's like what The Matrix could have been, but thankfully wasn't. Still, it gets points for featuring a dolphin hacker.
