US Elections Page 2

Yea I'm rooting for Obama too. The polls show him gaining every day.
A poll released yesterday showed that 1 in 6 Canadians would rather vote in the US elections then the Canadian elections.

Nah, there's something weird about Obama that just doesn't feel right. And from what American friends have said to me, I'll be surprised if he wins it. But if he does, then McCain will be President. I can see the deep-south types voting for a woman (just), but for one of them there cotton-picking negro fellows? Not a chance. Still very little tolerance in an alarmingly large proportion of the electorate. Best outcome for America, and indeed the world, will be a victory for the Clinton camp, IMO.

'I think the fact that Canadians pay so much attention to the U.S. election is a sign that they really care about the United States, a sign that they want it to get back to where it was before'

Couldn't agree more and its good that most Americans have realised this aswell.

EDIT. You don't have to win the south to win the election the key states are Florida, California and the Mid Swing States. On this basis Obama could win. Also if McCain is the Republican runner then most right wing republicans won't vote.

The only thing I know Obama stands for is to have a widdle

How can Hilary know whats happening if she doesn't know where her husbands winkle is.

To be fair, it seemed like even HE didn't know where it was.

Full support for Obama here...

I thought Obama and Clinton had little or no chance in those southern states anyway. It would take a reborn white Jesus standing as the democrat for the republicans not to win, and even then it would be too close to call.

I like the look of Obama.
There's something dodgy about Hilary. Don't like her.
Plus, Obama is nice to the gays. Always a good way to judge politicians, I reckon.

I was reading the Economist yesterday and they predict that if McCain (who they think is a liberal lol) or Romney (who is a Mormon..which they don't like either) win the Republican nomination the religious right could create a new party out of anger. But that would of course give an automatic win to the Dems.

A question to you all...what could they call this new party of Christian hard line right wingers? And who would win it's nomination?

My prediction:
The Goat Party: God Only America Team
Party Leader: Jesus with his running mate Mike Huckabee.
Discuss?

Yeah, but there are enclaves like that everywhere, and at this stage it's still pretty hypothetical on each case. Point is, there are an awful lot of people all over the country who still see blacks as a sub-species, but would (perhaps begrudgingly) vote for a white woman.

What about a gay politician?

America! F**k Yeah!

Probably one of those fat dudes off right wing radio would win the nomination. Mel Gibson would be a good candidate if he was American. Hes ultra Christian and hates Jews. They could clone Hitler but he weren't so big on religion and could have been Gay. Its tough. Charlton Heston is a f**king idiot maybe he'll get the nomination.

Ah, then it comes down to his treatment of kittens.

I can't believe I'm now actually trying to find out if Alan Duncan has any pets. *shakes head*

Laughing out loud

I like Alan Duncan and not just cos hes gay. Its hard to dislike a man, even a Tory, with hair like that. Wonder if they are now going to have to declare if they employ their pets? Blunkett springs to mind (and you thought I was joking you blindists)
