2 Pack in the day job for a sabbatical or for good. Then with some independent consulting and earnings from writing move up north and try and make it as a writer.

That one....Manchester meet anyone?

2 what?

2 books.

One actually in print on pulped dead trees.

And I got paid upfront for it.

Hmm not Manchester, nothing good ever came out of that benighted city.

I was thinking more Lees.

Nice. What was it about?

I'm going to set myself a some goals each month to complete to make sure I don't stagnate for another year.

January goes something like-

-Get back into running
-Complete a project
-Join a course

I'll reward myself with drugs and hookers at the end of each month.

Well the big is a 60 page guide to writing and performing your first standup routine.

Cowritten with an Ozzy guy who's a lot funnier than me, better standup, but tragically an even worse writer.

Longer term is a cute kids cartoon book about growing up, butthat's far more in the beta stages.

Good luck to you. So far I've found the experience of writing a book really rewarding. Of course this is likely to change the moment I push my baby out into the world and it gets pancaked betwixt the speeding locomotives of quality control and market saturation.

Is your book out there?

Or is it in production?

It's the editing, bluergh. I have terrible concentration issues, so I can only do 5 pages at a time.

Ready to work on the second draft soon. Once I've completed that I'll waft it under the noses of some literary agents and see if it's something they might be interested in.

So what is it? A novel? Guide? Bumper joke book? (negotiating on one of those....)

A comic novel (not to be confused with a graphic novel).

Ah cool, lot of work isn't it?

A comic novel (not to be confused with a graphic novel).

A novel about a comic or a comic about a novel OR a novel about a comic?

A novel that is comic as in amusing I am assuming.

Well, either way he's pitched it well. SOLD!

What book can I use that would get free advertising on Estate Agents signs?
