Miranda was a stand-up before she was an actress. I believe she had quite a different persona back then though. There's little chance of this being a failure as she'll be building on the bumbling character forged in the sitcom, and playing to an audience who're expecting and wanting just that.

Exactly why comedians are urged (by their agents/partners/selves) to make tours when they are hot on TV, to cash in on it.
So that becomes (by their writers/agents/partners/selves) in this case because there was a rather long list of them on the last Miranda ep credits and I bet they're very happy indeed she's taking them on tour.
