I too was sober, and am not known to be uncriticle on Dr Who, but brilliant was the word. OK the plot wasn't up to much, but aside from that it was the best I've seen in a long long time,it had humour and colourful characters, the more I see of the Sontaran, Lizard Lady and friend and Clara the happier I'll be. It had a lovely light touch and didn't take itself to seriously and wasn't to thick with plot and cod science, just a good roistering yarn.
Well, it wasn't a roistering yarn because there was no yarn at all, but I can't argue if your expectations are so low. Yes, there were colourful characters - other people's characters, but they were certainly colourful. 'Light touch' I assume is a euphemism for 'makes no f**king sense.'
