The only negative was the schmaltzy bit when she was dying, and the 'tears of a family on Christmas Eve' thing. But apart from that, brilliant.

It was indeed. Not saying a whole lot, but it's the best Christmas special so far. Loved the opening credits too, with Smith's face popping up. New TARDIS looked great. New companion aces. Lots of funny stuff with the Lizard woman and the Sontaran. Lots of magical moments.
It was definitely the best Christmas special since Tennant's first one.
I forgot to pay proper attention to the new opening credits. 
Quite like the new Tardis though.
It got a lot better I hope it was shaking off some of the bad stuff from earlier seasons
That was great, no complaints about any of it, the best I've seen of any of the new ones. It reminded me of a cross between the best of the Troughton era and the best of the Pertwee era. If the new series is as good then we are in for a treat 
Loved the Sontaron sidekick - how did that come about? I was drunk...
Enjoyed this episode, but was a bit confused with the Clara ending.

Yes that was good, I also liked the new theme tune. I was as confused as I am by most episodes but really enjoyed it, the new assistant has the widest eyebrows ever, but she was brilliant.
She's great. So relieved I like her!
The potato head sidekick was very funny. Wouldn't mind them keeping him.
She seemed like a more broadly drawn hyper real character like levels or ace and it seemed to work

The first half hour was very boring, then lots of stuff happened, which was a big improvement (even if it didn't make much sense). I don't know if the new companion is any good or just channeling old Pond/River Song scripts, but she's easy on the eye.
