Hi Folks..I'm a new member to the forum..any hints/tips to where I could maybe get an artist/agent to listen to a CD of adult comedy material..meant for live audiences.Enough material on it for a live show.

Well you can Google them or lookup the writers and artists year book.
But if you're asking a question, are you sure you're all the way ready yet?
And haven't just got a CD full of unfunny shite that amuses your mates down the pub (and your mum)?
your probably right sootyj..I am not ready..hence the request for information..as for the material..it would stand against and better most of the crap that people pay to listen to..
I strongly suggest you get some opinion from people who don't know you, e.g. the showcase or critique threads on this forum. Saying you reckon you're as good as those who are succesful is a one way road to sorrow. And you wouldn't want to trash your reputation with actual producers and agents because you didn't check your material out in advance properly.
I'll take that on board Sootyj.."watch this space"..you might be suprised in the coming months..nothing ventured as they say.

Like Sooty says, best to put something up in Critique. I used to think some of the very early material I wrote was better than "that crap on the telly", but I was sadly mistaken.
Also, if your material is that good, why not book a show with an audience to record it, take a soundboard recording of the audio and just start selling it online (somewhere like Bandcamp/iTunes)? That would be remarkably easy and relatively cost-free to do.

Thanks..for that garry..I said before..I am a songwriter..spend enough time doing that..this is only something I thought about doing on the side..Combined with my kmowledge of storylines and delivery..hook ect..I more or less added my sense of humour to situation type stand up.. friends ect prompted me to go for it..was other folks idea..but as I find the subject material easy to play with.. I just sort of get to bones of things..and build it on it..hopefully in a humerous fashion that people will like.I put two samples on the critique..that's all I intend to show..no sense giving it all away just yet..Still the same..thanks to you..ben and Sooty for the info.
