A Practical Joke (Short Cartoon)

Hi All

Not sure about this cartoon: http://youtu.be/8e0iCxSF9Ts . Any thoughts would be lovely. Will probably play around with the timing in it.

at 10 seconds I could probably tell you the exact one

but most likely just to make the jump from open that door to shot in the face even quicker

Didn't feel it needed to be shortened myself, in fact if anything it all happened a bit too quickly. Might be me showing my age though.

Thanks DB. I've been too close to it for a while so will look at it again with fresh eyes in two days time. Hopefully I'll figure out the timing then.

Any thoughts on the voices, look, sound and anything else would be cool.

Honestly, I found the voices a bit grating. I can see how they match the animation style and all, they're just not to my personal taste.

That's cool. Does it sound like I've overdone the silliness in the voices?

To me, yes, but that's my complaint about a lot of amateur animation. It's a tough one to get right - with this sort of animation you don't want to go too natural, but the style you've chosen sounds too CBBC for my liking.

Thanks David. I'm a fan of OTT silliness (strangely enough I wrote for a CBBC show recently) but I can understand if it sounds annoying. If a lot of people think the same I'll probably re-record the lines (won't be too much of a bother and I want to get better at performing).

EDIT: Maybe I'll cut the narrator at the start. That voice is more exaggerated than the others.

Thought the animation was very good and very well done, the content I didn't really like it did nothing for me, would like to see something a little longer

I liked the set up of the bucket on the door but the gun thing didn't really seem work for me...I would have preferred he caught him off guard with a custard pie as he went to open the door.

Gotta disagree its the extreme violence that works.
But it's not hugely original.

I get the extreme bit but all I thought when I watched it was so what, there was nothing new there.
