Just pleased to have it back on. My expectations were low, so I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. Jezza in the therapist's office, Super Hans being all corporate and Mark's funeral speech made me chuckle.
Peep Show - Series 8 Page 5
Loved it! Hurrah!
Yup enjoyed that, especially the curry scene.
Nice it's back but not one of the better episodes.
A decent opener. Agree that Johnson's speech seemed a bit jarring, and David Mitchell's hair is increasingly Hitlery. But other than that great to have it back. And Mark's new boss has potential, as does Jeremy as a therapist.
I thought it was great. "I'm taking a look at my phone tariff. I've got a very strong feeling I'm getting f**ked in the arse."
Favourite show ever, and was slightly disappointed. However, Peep Show exists at a different level of expectation than any show (bar maybe The Thick of It).
Thought Mark/Johnson were unrealistically shitty in this one. Johnson is always sold as a dick, but a dick that says the right thing at the right time; albeit insincerely. He would never have said what he said at that funeral. The great quality of PS has always been its acute realism. I hope the characters don't become OTT parodies of themselves. Mark, Jez and Johnson all threatened to become that in this episode.
Best bit for me was the Steven Gerrard cake.
So happy it's back. Not nearly the best ever but so funny.
Cracked up at Johnson, and the 'Shitting on me like a dead angry pigeon' line.
Very enjoyable. Still not nearly as good as series 1-4, but that curry scene was better than any scene I remember from series 5-7.
How come Sophie didn't show her face?
Has Olivia what's it quit the show ?

Most of Series 6 was absolutely quality IMHO.
Series 5 and Series 7 were patchy by PS's high, high standards.
That said, Series 5's double-date at the theatre is one of my fave recent PS scenes.
Lofthouse: I heard she has. From an earlier post in this thread.
SimonWing: Interesting, I hated series 5, found series 6 better (but still nothing like as good as series 1-4) and series 7 a little better still (but about the same basically).
Great start in my book.
Loved it! Poor Gerrard, but I loved how he had the last laugh on Mark.
The one bit that seemed to have the old magic was the microwave plot felt like one of those who episodes where every one was focused on Sherlock or in this case fresh meat
