The general pop/rock - music thread Page 11

I'm so glad they released the O2 reunion concert by Led Zeppelin (Celebration Day). Bad timing for the Stones though, because "Grrr!" (greatest hits with two mediocre new songs) pales in comparison, it's a bit anticlimatic. The Stones celebrate the past and offer two new less than stellar songs, while Zeppelin prove that they could still earthshatteringly rock in 2007.

I bet Lee's considering that pic for his new avatar.

He has to find some fitting sunglasses first.

Has anyone heard this yet?

As mentioned elsewhere Family are playing a couple of shows for their 40th next February. Very tempted as they were quite original and had a great sound and of course Chapman's voice. (No relation!)

I saw Mott the Hoople a couple of years ago and got the CD of the show immediately afterwards. Maybe they'll do the same here.

Also saw Crowded House and got USB recording of the show.

Chapman's voice.

A force of nature.

Do the cover versions have to be better than the originals?
That would be a tough(er) top ten.

And it has some great singles. The album is very uneven but you can't whack Mixed emotions and Rock & A Hard Place. And yes, I liked Slipping Away too...I always like the Richards sung songs on the Stones albums.

This could be another thread: YOUR FAVOURITE RICHARDS SONG: mine would be "Before They Make Me Run"

gallows pole - led zep

Again, the live version of this on the Page & Plant album No Quarter is amazing. Outshines the studio original imo.
