Quote: Will Cam @ November 17 2012, 5:01 PM GMTIt seems to be quite a bit faster on my iPad.
Are you an unsigned-in guest on the iPad?
I don't seem to see the (occasional) slowness if I sign out.
(Authorisation? Extra features non-guests get?)

I can confirm that speed issues on certain pages eg Active Threads seems to be solved by signing out.
Which isn't much use.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. We're aware there's definitely problems with certain forum pages when you're signed in (it's to do with working out what the last post you read was, so the 'green ticks' work) and are working hard on a solution to this.
Shouldn't be slow for too much longer, but thanks for your patience in the meantime.
Aside from messing up the forum, I think the server move has otherwise made the site a bit quicker and - more importantly, fingers crossed - less likely to crash when we get a big peak after a TV show or famous person tweeting a link to us.
Any problems spotted though please do post here, or email contact@comedy.co.uk - Cheers!
Just being nosey Mark but what would you call a big peak (in terms of numbers)?
It's not an issue of exact numbers, but of how the demand is spread. Hundreds of people requesting the same page in the same half second is a bigger peak than thousands requesting a page over the space of, say, 10 seconds.

As Aaron says, it depends a bit... but we are (hopefully past tense now, 'were') getting hammered with too many hits a second (100s per second) for some sitcom pages after they've just finished going out on air - e.g. Hebburn is a very popular page on Thursdays at 10:30pm to 11pm - and the old server couldn't cope.
Really slow for me ATM.
Tried clearing your cash?
Hahaha very good.
Might have been my router actually, seems ok after a reboot.

That is sexy. SEXY WORDPLAY.
But, actually, it's still very slow.

I've recently switched to Chrome, having no problems. You tried a different browser?
Seems just as slow.
Like we said, we're aware of the problem.
I've implemented a (temporary) fix, of sorts. If anyone continues to notice pages slower than a second or so to load over a fast broadband connection, please post below the page you were on, and the URL you're trying to access.
