Edited for punctuation and capitalisation.

The world's greatest advert is that banned Tango ad from about eight years ago.

F**king hell Joel, that was scary. I vote with the legend that is Um Bongo.

Oh god! Nostalgia.

apparently in loaded a reader whilst on an expecition to the congo did buy a carton of umbongo, hence the line "they drink it in the congo is in fact true,"

I've always wanted to phone up the Congo Embassy and ask if they drink Um Bongo. I suspect that they'd just hang up, so I'd keep on trying until I got an answer, damnit!

Yes but they don't specify WHICH Congo so the pedant in me asks, "Was he standing IN the river at the time of consumption?" Personally, I suspect that he wasn't. Laughing out loud

Doesn't Congo refer to both a river, and a country?

ergo if he was drinking it whilst in the river COngo

it would be

"Umbungo they drink it in the Congo in the Congo,"

however I believe he drank it in a boat on the Congo river, with a foot in the water

Hence

"Umbungo they drink it in the Congo, on the Congo, in the Congo,"

Then my pedantriness is satisfied. :P

It refers to TWO countries (Democratic Republic of ... and Republic of ...)and a river and an awful 1995 film.

So if he was on the boat with his foot in the river, and sailed past the republic, whislt watching the not at all bad pop corn movie Congo he would be,

"Umbungo they drink it in the congo, on the Congo, in the Congo, by the Congo, infront of the Congo,"

I will not be out pedanted!

That's not pedantic. That's just mental!

Umbongo is a classic ad, I like this one too from back in the day......

It's the Harriers at the end that make it work

It would suck balls if they used skyhawks instead

I saw this and decided at once it is the best bit of TV ever.
