Does the Christmas special launch the new series - or second part of this series - or is there another gap between the proper seies starting?
Doctor Who... Page 907
Probably a year's gap. Between each episode.
Christmas Show, then gap. Not confirmed when, in 2013, series 7 part 2 starts!
It will return in the spring, with at least one special later in the year, and a Mark Gatiss doc. A ninety minute TV movie on the genesis of the Dr called Adventures in time and space is rumoured to be a multi Dr story with Smith possibly leaving at this point. Moffat will stay on for series 8.

The TV movie "Genesis" is a drama written by Mark Gatiss, about the origins of DW! It'll be interesting to see who is cast.

Tom Baker has said yes, no news on Eccleston, Tennant is almost certain. As for bringing any others in it would be difficult, obviously most are dead, Colin Baker? Is he in the jungle trying to lose weight to appear, Sylvesta MacCoy? I would like to see Paul MacCann, his audio adventures are great.

I think your getting your docs and drama confused. Gatiss isn't writing a multi-Doctor story, Moffat will be writing that. Gatiss is writing a drama set in the BBC, in 1963.

I've heard there is a multi Dr story in the works. It was originally the three reboot Dr's, but now Tom Baker is rumoured to be in it. I have heard Gatiss is either doing a doc or TV film about the genesis of who. I have heard that both Gatiss and Moffat will be writing it a la Sherlock? But obviously this is all speculation as nothing is confirmed to be filmed until the spring.
The drama about the creation of DW is being written by Gatiss!
No you misunderstand, I heard Moffat and Gatiss were writing the multi Dr story. Actually reading my previous post I didn't put it well. I must say the idea of a docudrama about Sidney Newman etc does not excite me
I'm not sure how a multi-doc story that featured people like Tom Baker would work. They're too old, look too different. Unless there was some odd explanation, like they were from different dimensions where their Doctor's lived longer, or something. The only Docs that could realistically still get away with appearing as their Doctor, would be Paul Mcgann onwards. Basically, to get any of the others, Moffat would need some explanation for why they looked so much older that could be easilly swallowed.

That is what I thought, but Tom Baker is hinting that he's in it?

Moffat has f**ked up Who in so many ways.

Hard to believe I once liked Gatiss. I can't begin to express my sadness at how him and moffat have misshaped and mishandled the who franchise. He should stick to playing vicars.

Big Finish put forward the suggestion that when the Doctor meets his previous selfs, space/time is affected, hence the change in appearance.

But no one but die hard fans are going to accept that.
