I've just seen... Page 315

I liked Skyfall ok, but the finale with the Straw Dogs/Home Alone references was a bit dull. Also, there were a hell of a lot of things that just happened without explanation; why did the assassin have to shoot from the tower block opposite, when his own people were in the room with the victim? Why did Javier send his first wave of troops in to be slaughtered before making his big entrance? Actually none of that mattered much, it's just a lightweight romp.

I saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Daniel Craig version) last night and considered it a very good watch.

Saw Red Lights the other day. Thought it was absolutely brilliant and then they went and ruined it all at the end.

Watched The Dictator on DVD over the weekend. It was beyond awful. It was lazy, intellectually offensive and just bad film making.

Compared to the film it ripped off - the brilliant and charming Coming To America, it really failed immensely.

Not recommended.

The very first ep of reggie Perrin

The original, not the turd of a remake

Question: as an early-middle-aged man, should I bother watching the Twilight movies?

Do you need to be an angsty teenager to enjoy them, or are they just empirically good?

For background: fellow adults told me I needed to watch the Harry Potter movies because they're ageless etc etc and they (well, the first two or three I watched) left me cold.

Well, I expect the Twilight films are better than the books.

But, I wouldn't bother.

However I did like Harry Potter, so maybe that means you'd love Twilight.

My daughter likes Twiglet but I have never been able to sit through one. All pale kids looking pained, its like a gothic youth club, but I don't suppose it was aimed at me.

They are objectively terrible movies. I think you can only enjoy them if you buy into the idea that the central relationship is wonderfully romantic, but it's actually grooming a child to devote her life to a man who acts like a psychotic stalker.

re: Harry Potter. I was not a fan but the last two were pretty incredible and I would say worth sitting through the others for.

Thanks Harridan, that's all I needed to know.

I could barely sit through the trailer

Bring back proper killer vampires

Yea you can't beat a bit of Hammer, Christopher Lee or Ingrid Pitt, they all look like a strong breeze could knock them over in these new vampire films

There's a lot of snobbery and ridiculous over the top bile spouted about the Twilight movies but they're pretty watchable.

I was expecting it to be unbelievably, unspeakably terrible but the first one was kind of okayish (in comparison to what I'd expected).
But I tried to watch the second and couldn't be bothered with it. Too annoying.

There are definitely better things to do with your time, in my opinion.
