Dr Strangelove and fluoride

I love this film.

I don't watch a lot of TV but saw a favourite film recently, Dr Strangelove, and realised for the first time an obvious truthful message placed in the scene with Ripper and Mandrake in Rippers office as they're under attack :

General Jack D. Ripper: And as human beings, you and I need fresh, pure water to replenish our precious bodily fluids.

General Jack D. Ripper: Have you ever heard of a thing called fluoridation. Fluoridation of water?

General Jack D. Ripper: Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face?

General Jack D. Ripper: You know when fluoridation first began?

General Jack D. Ripper: Nineteen hundred and forty-six. Nineteen forty-six, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.

Keep away from fluoride*. It's poison and over the long term may make you docile and apathetic while lowering your IQ. Thats something your dentist won't tell you. I stopped the invasion of my precious bodily fluids by the enemy fluoride. I suggest you do the same.

Show me some peer-reviewed scientific studies from a reputable medical journal and I'll believe that Flouride is dangerous to health. Until then, I'll stick with my flouride toothpaste.
