Doctors to put 1% of patients on a "Death List"

Bored of doing sketches on here (a whopping two in three months, and I'm spent). Someone else did some prose stuff recently, and I thought I'd knock something off in a kind of newspaper style (kinda like a shit version The Onion, Viz or Framley Examiner).

Picked a random story in the paper: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2218790/Put-1-100-patients-death-list-GPs-told-Frailest-asked-choose-end-life-care.html

If you can't squeeze hilarity out of a veritable comedy goldmine, like, what is essentially forced euthanasia, you're in the wrong game.

Bollocks, it's 2.55am. Knackered. To be continued/finished/ignored...

That's very very good I smiled nice lid back undersrted style and a good match to real ewpaper styles

Nice stuff Simonwing.

There is so much comedy available to us in the news and it doesn't always have to be a slick one liner or a cleverly crafted sketch.

I'm a big fan of prose, keep it up

"It seems a bit harsh to have choose someone to kill, when they're basically all going to be OK. I chose one in the end though... because he's black."

Laughing out loud

Some good writing in here but unless it's a commission I think these kind of things are essentially pointless.

By pointless I assume you mean that there is nothing to gain from it?

If so, I strongly disagree. I find any form of writing is worth doing as it means your brain is working and ideas and plots can develop. It can also help to get you disciplined to write regularly. You might not be able to pen that killer sketch or script, as you feel you are lacking ideas but you might have a funny take on a particular story. While doing that, you may come up with a funny angle which gives you the best idea you have ever had and from there scripts can develop.

Writing is never pointless, except maybe that stuff I wrote on the toilet wall when I was 12, that was almost certainly pointless.

Mr Back was a bit of a prick though

I've written a few of these things for wonga and there is a market out there for them, not a big one.

But I could picture this selling.

Bunch of ars.
