No not hotel smashers, but what about a casualty Keith Moon. I heard he want into a pub with someone quiet as a mouse for an hour, then as he left he said, 'Now for some Moon' and smashed a table of glasses screaming his head off, as he left he apologised to the landlord and offered to pay for the damages. He said people expect it of him.

A showbiz pro.

Glad I saw them on their last two tours for Forty Licks and A Bigger Bang. The Bang concert was on a location with over 90 people. But these prices now are ridiculous.

So an extremely small venue?

This is really cool. And Charlie seems to be the most down to earth guy in the band. Was this pre-stones band originally built around Alexis Korner?

I'm not totally sure but it rings a bell. I can't for the life of me remember the guys name and as my friend is married her surname isn't of any help. There's a Facebook photo I've just seen from the Ealing Jazz Club event with Charlie and my friend's mum but it's not my place to share.

Edit: LIGHTBULB MOMENT! It was Carlo Little

Thanks for this thread. Prompted me to get out old Stones records. And marvel at what a fabulous album Their Satanic Majesties Request is.

I prefer their bluesier ones...Beggar's Banquet, Exile or some of their 70s records. But Satanic isn't as bad as some "hardliners" say. On the contrary, it's very enjoyable...more melodic and playful as their "regular" stuff. It shows that the Stones could be as versatile as The Beatles if they wanted to.

You have got to be the only person I've heard of who likes the stones hippy phase. Still each to their own

Just been listening to Flowers. Also exquisite.

Despite all of the protestations over the outrageous prices, people who play golf and drive Hondas bought all of the tickets in just 7 minutes. Now people who play golf and drive Mercedes are trying to buy scalped tickets on eBay for up to twelve thousand pounds.

People who won't check on an elderly neighbour or visit relatives in the retirement home will shell out thousands to see a bunch of OAPs. It's a funny world.

Their neighbours and relatives probably didn't write a song as good as Paint It Black though; so screw 'em.

Laughing out loud

I bet their neighbours and relatives can write better songs then anything on the Stones last three albums.

i've heard rumour's their playing glastonbury next year, I've got a ticket just in case it's true.
i saw them in 98 at the don valley stadium in sheffield, the bridges to babylon tour.

stones were at their greatest in the 70s, as you have said beggers banquet and exile, I'd add black and blue, tattoo you and goats head soup to that

The Stones can shove it . . this is where I'm going !

When Mick Jagger dies,
Will it say "Head Stone" on his headstone?

I have no more Rolling Stone jokes you'll be pleased to hear
