Cheating Sketch

Helen is sat in her hallway. She looks furious, keeps looking at her watch and tapping her foot. The sound of the front door being unlocked is heard and she leaps up. She goes striding to the front door. The camera remains on her empty seat.

Tom: (O.O.V) Oh, uh, hello dear!

Helen: (O.O.V) Ha! You didn't expect me to be up did you?! Thought you could just sneak back in.

Tom: (O.O.V) It, uh, um, didn't even enter my head, dear.

Helen: (O.O.V) (SNIFFS) What's that on you? Perfume?! Oh well, I know where you've been now, don't I?!

The camera pans along - Helen is seen first and then Tom. Tom is dressed in a basque, stockings, suspenders and full make up.

Tom: Honestly, it's not what it looks like.

Ends

Yes to this. Only thing is not all the dialogue is OOV as stated in the intro. The last line must be on-screen.

Although it saves the writer time, I'd obey the convention and tag all the dialogue as OOV where applicable because the actors (forgetful sods) and director will ... forget. Even if the whole film is OOV. :)

I know what you mean Slag. I just wanted it to look a little less cluttered to readers on the board. I'll change it though.

Can understand the reasoning behind it tho. :)

Tough one, this.

For starters I just don't think it's that funny. Putting aside my personal feelings though; to watch, the sketch would be deperately uninteresting.

I'd bottom-shelf this one and move on.

PS. The correct abbreviation is OS for 'Out of Shot'

Maybe, but the correct abbreviation is OOV (or O.O.V in ScriptSmart) for 'Out of View'.

I've never heard of an OOV before, but it is a rather endearing abbreviation.

I'm more of an OOV than OS myself, although either will suffice.

think one derives from film screenplay format, the other from drama/ sitcom

I quite liked this, especially the last line. It's not a killer but made me chuckle. :)
