You can't always get what you want. I don't even want it, a group of old men reliving their glory years I could do that down the local pub for the price of a packet of pork scratchings.

Let's face it, you don't have Jagger's hips, Pingl. :D

About eight years ago, the manager of the Hotel Dolder in Zurich was asked in an interview what Jagger was like. The manager told that Jagger was nice and down to earth and was only looking for a good and safe jogging course. this guy's in good shape.

Jagger is and always has been sensible, the accountant of rock n roll, go man go!

The complete opposite of Richards, this old marauder!

If I was going to create the archetypal idea of what a rock star should look like and behave like it would be Richards. It's only rock n roll but he likes it Pirate

If I had to name THE two archetypical rock stars, then I'd say Keith Richards and Gregg Allman. Richards the Brit, a bit flashy...a Rock n Roll lunatic, take no prisoners attitude. Allman, from the southern part of America, typically unglamourous for an American (apart from being married to Cher once), but he had also his fair share of tragedies and drug addictions...but always bounces back. and like Richards, he's born to Rock n Roll...an will die on stage with a paper cup full of orange juice and vodka.

For the women its got to be Janis Joplin or if your folk inclined Sandy Denny

That. And an addition to my previous post: Jimi Hendrix (although he hasn't bounced back, sadly.)...and maybe Phil Lynnot.

I loved Thin Lizzy saw them live a few times, unbeatable. The great survivor is Dylan still going strong reputation intact. Brian Wilson doesn't look well but he's still going strong.

Dylan and Wilson are great but not archetypical hotelroom destroyers. By the way I saw Dylan in concert twice. But I envy you seeing Lizzy live, you lucky bastard. :D

No not hotel smashers, but what about a casualty Keith Moon. I heard he want into a pub with someone quiet as a mouse for an hour, then as he left he said, 'Now for some Moon' and smashed a table of glasses screaming his head off, as he left he apologised to the landlord and offered to pay for the damages. He said people expect it of him.
