Well, I only wanted a few views on my video so thanks for that and thanks to the kind people. To the rude people: enjoy living in your mums basement for the rest of your life
and yes of course I know I'm the video maker
Just checked out your website and to be fair it's pretty good for a couple of youngbloods and is no doubt popular with people of your own cohort.
Remember, if you are brave enough to throw your hat into the ring and step into the public arena in any form there will always be people who like what you do, those that don't and those that will be indifferent.
Obviously, praise and positive feedback is a wonderful thing but it is not something that should be expected but rather needs to be earned. Along the way, you are likely to receive a lot of the other.
This is just life but it can also be a true blessing in disguise.
A lot of posters on this forum regularly stand up in front of crowds of people who they don't know and have the proverbial knackers to try to make laugh. This in itself deserves respect.
Even if some of the criticism or comments appear strong or wounding, imagine what it's like to stand up on stage in person.
There is much wisdom to be learnt from many of the comments here and then, better still, applied to make your own efforts better.
I'm not a stand-up but I know what its like to die on stage. I was in a band and it was our first public gig.
We bombed big time.
The room fell silent.
After we had the plug literally pulled on us.
Admittedly, we weren't best pleased.
But we could have gone home, cried and then disbanded.
Instead, it made our band become a unit.
We got our act together.
Tightened our set.
Realised what we were good at and more importantly realised what we were not good at.
Then some bloke called Bono took over on vocals...
Nah, that was just a poor joke.
What I'm saying is, negative criticism/reactions can sometimes be the best thing ever. Not enjoyable at the time, but if used well, it can be the best thing that ever happened.
We went on to be legends in our own minds, to nick a quote from Tom Waits, gigging our way into the history books of obscurity.
But we had a right good laff doing it.
If you stick with it, perhaps your story will be better.
You still need to work on your accents, though.
