British Comedy Guide

A Podcast Question

Hello all,

I have an idea in its very early stages, in fact it is so early it is practically pre-embryonic, but I just wanted to guage some interest and see if it is something people would find useful.

Would people be interested in a one-stop-shop for podcasts? I don't just mean a directory that lists hundreds of podcasts from around the net but more of a podcast community. I'm thinking of a kind of British equivalent to www.earwolf.com , a community of podcasters who make podcasts specifically for that website.

It would mainly be for comedy podcasts and the aim would be to turn the website in to a brand if you will. So people associate the website with top quality podcasts and comedy, and likewise if your podcast is hosted on the website people would know it is a podcast worth checking out.

I think the British podcast market is seriously missing a beat, especially the comedy industry, it is all very spread out and unfocused and lacks the inclusive nature and commradery of the American podcast market.

Like I say it is a very basic idea at the minute, but let me know what you think and if this could work or be something people would be interested in. Any suggestions also welcome.

Thanks.

It's certainly something I've thought we are missing over here compared to America; they have Nerdist, too. of course, they've been able to involve known comedy people, which is a bit of an advantage.

Very true. Having a semi-well-known comedian on board would obviously help. :)
