4amcab comedy sketch podcast Page 2

Just to check - do you mean 1-2 pages in standard BBC format: Arial 12 pt, 1.5 spacing...or just however much we can cram on one-page through use of a microscope ;)

I think we'll go with the BBC style on this one, nice try though.

I'll upload a couple of sample scripts to the 4amcab website this evening to give you a clearer idea of how we work.

Keep the sketches coming.

We are now putting together Episode 5 of the podcast, do send in your sketches. We've got example scripts on the website which you can read along with when listening to the current episode, namely number 4 ;-)

To listen to Episode 4: www.4amcab.com or http://www.tinyurl.com/4amcabpod

Just a quick final reminder that our deadline for Episode 5 is Friday 14th September at noon.

We've had some great stuff so far but always happy to get more.

Thanks to everyone who submitted a script for episode 5.

We've had some great stuff and are now sifting through. We'll let you know when the final episode is released! Don't forget to like, poke, lick, hug and twist our nipples off in the following places:

Thanks again,

Rachel and Lee

Episode 5 is being honed, polished and given a good rub down as we speak.

Which means here in the script tower we turn our attention to episode 6. We are now accepting submissions, with a deadline of noon on Wednesday 24th October.

Please send your submissions to ideas@4amcab.com. Please no TV scripts! If you need formatting guidelines please have a look at this excellent blog by Dan Tetsell from the good ol' BBC.

Thanks so much to everybody who's submitted something so far, and looking forward to reading your scripts.

Rachel and Lee

Episode 5 is now available on our website: www.4amcab.com and also on iTunes: www.tinyurl.com/4amcabpod

Have a listen and then send us your sketches for Episode 6. We got a great sketch last time about Ghost Hunter Hunters which we are working on incorporating into this episode, so please send us anything with a spooky or hallowe'en flavour to it.

The address for submissions is: ideas@4amcab.com

Also, please have a look at the writers guide on the website too for more guidelines.

Mine was the Ghost Hunters' - I alreday knew because you emailed me of course - but thanks for nice words on forum. Hopefully I'll try to write some more spooky stuff for episode 6. Although that'll have to wait until I listen to episode 5

I have stuff in this episode, so go listen. Mine's the ACRE Therapy sketch, if anyone's interested.

Thanks 4amcab!

Dan

^ Well done, Dan.

I really like the podcast so far, and I'm thinking about sending in a sketch or two, just got a couple of questions;

Is there a limit to how many sketches you'd like a single person to send in?

And what's the deal with swearing? Episode 3 (I think) had quite a bit (like the F word) but I haven't heard as much in the others, is it best to keep it clean? Or am I just so desensitised to swearing it simply washes over me?

Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your interest, and great that you like the podcast so far.

There isn't a limit as such, but I would recommend writing a couple of really good ones specifically for 4amcab rather than sending loads, (particularly if they're old sketches as they might not be right for us.)

Also we are trying to keep it clean these days! The odd swear is fine, but steer clear of Tuckeresque rants please :-)

Looking forward to reading your scripts.

Rachel

Just wanted to put a note of thanks on here to all the writers that have sent us stuff for 4amcab. We really appreciate people spending time on sketches for us, particularly as we're a little bit different to the rest.

We're on a break now until the new year when we'll come back with a bigger and better show. We'll post on here what we're looking for in due course, feel free to take the rest of the year off.

If you haven't done so already, please listen to all 6 episodes of Series One on our website:

www.4amcab.com

and subscribe in iTunes too:

We'd love to hear what you think. See you in 2013!

My MOT sketch is in this episode. If anyone cares.

All of this episode is very funny, in my opinion.

Dan

Mine is the Ghost Hunters thread. and I agree with Dan a very funny episode - I especially liked the Bi-Polar Bear sketch

Dear all,

Thanks so much for all the interest and submissions for series 1. We have now made an announcement about series 2, with more opportunities to submit your work. Have a look at the link below, and feel free to share on Facebook, follow us on Twitter etc... More details soon!

Thanks,

Rachel

!!!Call for Submissions!!!

The window to write for Series 2 of 4amcab is now open. After a very well received first series...

"Surreal, funny and brilliantly crafted and produced."
"Very dark and very funny! Loved every episode so far."
"a great mix of sketches that are genuinely funny and show very impressive production."
"Beautifully recorded and produced in gorgeous stereo."
"Absolutely outstanding"
"some real belly laughs"

...we are back for more. This time we are having a month long window where we are asking for your sketches so we can more thoroughly plan all 6 episodes of the second series.

Here are the details you need.

The dull stuff first:

The current window is open until Midnight Wednesday 20th March 2013

Send your Word .doc scripts to us at this email address: ideas@4amcab.com

Put "Series 2 submission" in the subject box - this will ensure you get a receipt to say we've received your work.

On each sketch, put a header with your name and email address on, so we can keep track of who sent what.

Send us as many sketches as you like, there is no limit.

As we are expecting to receive a lot of sketches, we are not able to offer feedback for individual sketches but if we like something or think that it could be developed we will let you know.

Everything that is used will get a credit on the 4amcab.com website

The more interesting stuff:

We have a writers guide on our website http://www.4amcab.com/write but the main thing we are looking for are short sketches with a slightly surreal or silly sensibility. Have a listen to one of the later episode of Series 1 or individual sketches on our audioboo channel - http://audioboo.fm/4amcab?filter=boos

What are we looking for:

4 part storylines for each episode, must have a nocturnal theme
Adverts with a twist
Fictional TV Show sequences for the early hours
Movie trailers, again with a twist
Extraordinary characters doing the mundane
Normal characters doing the extraordinary

In addition to this we have regular characters which you can write for. These include Derek the Bi Polar Bear, The Pathologist, Flatsy and Mairead (though we've moved her from Q Shop to her own cookery show called Mairead's Big Oven!)

Try to keep your sketches as short, two pages if possible and make every line count. We look forward to reading your work.

Remember, the deadline is Midnight Wednesday 20th March 2013

Depending of what and how much we receive, we may ask for more material either on the British Comedy Guide Forum, on our www.4amcab.com website or on www.twitter.com/4amcab.

Any questions, do ask.
