I voted Boris because of Cameron and all the rich arrogant twats and I wanted a man of the people, regret it now, let all these tits in. For me its better the devil I know ;)

I'm from the North, not the bit that's in touch with its feelings, and we voted against having a Mayor thank God. Up here we don't much care what happens down there, but I will never vote anything but Labour again.

You see how easy it could be to vote for someone that I consider to be the most dangerous man in British politics for many, many years.

(not that you would vote for him Pingl )

I make the point to highlight how people can be swept along on a tide of popularist instant decision making.

A good mayor like Red Ken was is a marvel. Infrastructure, ambassadoring standing up to big government, getting pissed and beating people up, sucking up terrorists, creating more bastards than the Bullingdon club.

All good.

Beware blonde baffoons bearing gifts, is all I can say.

I voted Liberal because of Blair and the war etc, regret it now, let all these tits in. For me its better the devil I know ;)

I think I forgave Blair for Iraq. Sadam was a c**t and we're better off with him dead, Iraqs better off. And Blair made a good gamble he just drew a lousy hand.

1973 war, Korean war, Falklands all bloody examples of how betting against war doesn't always work.

Yea but behind some of these examples was a certain amount of honesty, Blair lied and knew he was lying because he has the same kind of religious certainty that he critcises others for. He sees himself as some Moses in the desert, dangerous, very dangerous.

Pointless blaming Blair for Iraq

Any British pm would have backed the US and gone to war

Cameron would have. Clegg would have. 100% definate

Surely everybody knows that?

that doesn't make it right, and sadly I voted with my conscience, look where it got me.

Being surprised that a career politician lies

is the equivalent of beating your dog to death for shitting in the park.

But there are lies and lies. its this fundementalist Christian certainty he shared with Bush that freaked me out, it was like something from the Book of Revelations, the end of days. I don't like politicians who are to certain.

If Obama declares war on Iran - do you think even for one second that Cameron won't follow him like a little bitch?

He was actually a deeply conservative catholic, all that praying with Bush was the only way the blood thirsty nut job would trust him.

I'm a lapsed catholic myself, they are the worst

Man, you leftoids are really confusing me now. To sum up -

Boris is an idiotic buffoon and a brilliant schemer with a razor sharp mind.

Boris is a blue blooded toff and a man of the people with a common touch.

Red Ken was a brilliant ambassador for London and a drunken, anti-semetic, violent, dictator lover.

Pingl would never vote for Boris because he doesn't live in London, only supports Labour and resides in a town without a mayor anyhow.

What am I missing here?

Everything.

Because you're deliberately misquoting people.

Toot! Toot! There goes the RCP windup machine (in this case I picture it rather like an old jallopy driven by Cotter who is playing Toad of Toad Hall dontcha know).

Except for the remarks I made about Ken. Guess what, he's complex people are.

Check out the life of say Enoch Powell as a case in point.

nb do stick with this windup, it's less troublesome then when you start banging on about rape.

Nice try Chief Press Minister of the Politburo. I am reflecting back all of the conflicting opinions of the left with regards to Boris. If you're biggest criticism of him is that we don't have enough lollipop ladies, then he's doing a good job considering the state of the rest of the country.

Trying to undermine my argument that I'm just winding people up is weak sauce and once again, I am being attacked rather then the issue. I put forward that Boris is the only serious threat to Cameron and the Tory Government. And that he has been more vocal and public in his criticism then Ed Milliband and the entire Labour party put together.

Life long Labour voters shouldn't be given a vote, neither should life long Tory voters - who needs that kind of participant in a democracy.
