Jimmy Savile

Well I think that settles that, then?

If it's true and the evidence seems to be leaning that way (I'm assuming someone smarter than you and me has compared and contrasted the diferent interviews). Then it what it says is horrible, baffling and depressing beyond belief.

The BBC allowed a serial sex offender access to children and then covered up his crimes. F**k. They should have their charter dissolved and the whole rotten lot sold off to Rupert Murdoch to make pornographic quiz shows with.

The idea that some poor girl was a victim of a man that leared at her out of the telly every Saturday night.

I hope they bring him back from the dead so he can go to prison for ever.

Just utterly bizarre.

Of course he must just have been completely radio rentals with the worlds worst sense of humour.

Perhaps more disturbingly, the police didn't just know and cover up for a paedophile because he threatened them, but he was so comfortable of his own position beforehand, that he openly told the policewoman of what he would do.

The autobiography excerpt doesn't say how old she was. She could easily have been legal.

It's true that it doesn't directly mention her age. Except it does state that the WPC "was dissuaded from bringing charges against me" - charges for what? I cannot see any other implication of any crime there other than the possibility that the girl were below the age of consent; indeed given the context of that quote within the excerpt as a whole, that seems to be exactly what it's saying?

Most of his reminesents of his club days are frankly completely barking.

He claimed he invented the modern disco, is that claim well any less nutty?

Harbouring a fugitive?

You're right though, the brief quotes on that blog certainly are very suggestive.

A 14 year old 'victim' told her mum

An her mum didn't tell the police

Now THAT is f**ked up

From Half Man Half Biscuit's 'I Left My Heart In Papworth General'in 1986-

Down at Stoke Mandeville I bumped into Mr IQ
I said "Hey albino, this is not 1972
Stub out your King Edward and get that small boy off your knee
And melt down your fingerware and get yourself off my TV"

Is anyone actually surprised by these allegations and hasn't heard a story somewhere down the line.

I don't think its a surprise, he was strange little man who always said he hated kids a little to vehemently for my liking. If these allegations prove to be true, and that's a big but, its to late to make the bastard suffer. He got away with it and the only hope is that he is properly vilified to give his victims some peace at least.

It surprises me that he was interested in girls...

The police interviewed him only a year or so before his death.

They don't do that without a good reason.

It was something to do with that big scandal in Jersey. I don't think there were any prosecutions at all, my brother lives there and he said that it just seemed to come to an abrupt halt.
