I felt pretty tense in a lot of scenes; genuine creepy scares throughout. Poor Rory in the basement with the babies; propper unnerving.

Try new nurofen for period pain

Babies were a good addition that and the wrist scen workrd

You have been in a lift with Bussell, so I think you know what real unnerving feels like!

And I've frequented this thread for the last few years! *shivers*

Good point :D

All the Hotel battery farm bits were great, I thought. The detective finding his future self, then Rory finding his, the Angel smiling. Good stuff.

I did love the way they ended it to, with apparent victory suddenly turning to defeat as Rory is gone in a second.

more like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

They saved the best for last. The angels were genuinely scary, the way they approached and the unseen little laugh. This episode felt complete, as if all the bits of the story belonged there, unlike some episodes I've watched. Was a bit chocked at the way Rory was seen as an old man and the young Rory acted his socks off and Amy too, the ending was very sad. I nearly, almost, allright, I done a little cry.

Noooo! Every time you cry at Doctor Who, a storyline somewhere dies. But do agree that this felt like a complete story, was original and unlike attack of the boring cubes, it held my attention all the way through.

Also agree with Stott that it had genuine moments of tension and scares. Though I'm not going to point out that elderly Amy should have been in the hotel also, presumably as the editor of a publishing house churning out Melody Malone books.

The MSN reviewer doesn't like Amy and yes the story held together RCP. But isn't that pitiful, that we're grateful it didn't degenerate into a plop of cliches.

Like going to a restaurant and being pleased you didn't get the shit.

There's too much pandering to the Americans... Let them make their own programs!

That would have been better set in London, there are many many statues here. With Nelson on his column instead of the statue of Liberty which {a} didn't really appear anyway, much and {b} is hollow & made of bronze with a steel frame, so isn't compatible with the stone Angels in any case.

And the Ponds end up as American illegal immigrants?

Rory who had lived over 2000 years died after a mere 82 in the USA, it's obviously a bad place to be. :)

Good point Bill

although the fact that no one noticed one of the worlds most iconic landmarks had f**ked off down town, and nobody had noticed.

Is perhaps an even bigger leap.

Personally the idea that the last of the time lords spends an inordinate amount of time pretending he is in Friends, is just depressing.

?

Because he's shown relaxing, or having fun, with his companions sometimes?

Because they obviously spent a vast amount of effort having a revoltingly pretensious picnic in Newyork, with overpriced coffees.

It angered me.

You strike me as the kind of philistine who didn't enjoy the Avengers.

You need to relax, Sooty. Get a massage.

Are you trying to chat me up?

Because you're coming on a little strong....

But no the obsessively twee domestication of what's basically a transdimensional man with no name.
Is a load of arse.

Donna and seasons 1-2 Billie and even Capin' Jack were proper companions.
