The earth was approximately 50 million years ago struck by the Nemesis meteor. A meteor weighing some tens of millions of tonnes it struck with enough force to darken the skies for more than a century and exterminated 90% of life on earth. It ended the mighty reign of the dinosaurs and very nearly turned the earth into a lifeless husk like Pluto or Luna.
Scientists are preparing for the very real possibility such a rock could return. And end all life on earth in fire, darkness and terror.
