Should I get Father Ted? Page 5

Is it hell! Hang your head, Henman. The review is definitely leaning too far into the negative.

That's why I said it's over-critical. But I'll hang my head anyway.

*Hangs head. Notices bolognese stain on shirt. Tastes to be sure. Hangs head in shame even further*

Is it the same picture as in the BCG's overview on the left? If yes, then I have the same box. But I don't have these big difficulties to access the episodes although the menu is a bit...well...stupid.

Hmmm, mine says 2002.

Yes - the same photo.

So what did you do? Watch it one go?

No, no. On the series one menu for example the highlight colour is green and appears first on the first photograph. If you press OK here you'll get a 'play all.' If you highlight the next photo of the six priests and press OK you'll get the episode 1 chapters as a series of five photos. Below them are two small round photos of a bishop or priest. Pressing either of these will take you backwards and forwards through the episodes. You always have to start an episode by playing the first chapter. It's the worst DVD menu I've ever encountered - of the working ones, anyway.

Thanks and saved instructions for future reference.

I've got the same one as Gordon, dated 2002. The menu works but like Gordon says it's a bit unnecessarily cryptic, a bit like a lot of DVD menus that came out at that time ("I'm Alan Partridge". WTF.).

Nope - still can't get it to work Godot. May be something to do with the remote which is a bit strange.

OK - finally got my tiny brain around it. But it wasn't obvious. Thanks Godot.

I was watching Casino Royale on telly the other night when I heard something I'd never noticed before...

Cheers. Just woke up to find Linehan retweeted the link and it's all gone a bit mental!

Good grief!

And to think how delighted I was when Jim Bob out of Carter USM went wahey! To one of my Twitter witticisms!

It's an honour to be sure.

Laughing out loud Someone didn't get it in the comments...

Never seen it myself but it's high on my list of getting next, along with Dad's Army, Red Dwarf and after reading some comments on this forum, Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? sounds like it's got something about it.

Which of those should I get next?

Dad's Army
(Whatever Happened To) The Likely Lads
Father Ted
Red Dwarf

In that order.
