So, I'm looking for a new sitcom to buy on DVD. I'm liking audience, 3 cam shows at the moment. Something quite comforting about them. (Good ones, though... there's a mire of crap out there)

I'm looking for a new Father Ted, really. Wasn't blown away by IT Crowd, but maybe I should give it another go?

I don't know what it is, I think maybe Chris O'Dowd grates on me...

Suggestions welcome!

Black Books?

Ah yes, should have mentioned that in the first post. Loved Black Books. Maybe I should give IT Crowd another go... Just wondering if there were any lesser-known gems out there!

Hippies

This looks promising! Good?

Studio sitcom ... clever and quirky. Um. Drop The Dead Donkey?

Chelmsford 123?

You might like How Do You Want Me with Dylan Moran.

Brilliant, thanks all!

Chelmsford looks particularly good. For some reason I always thought Drop The Dead Donkey was a sketch show, along the lines of Not The Nine O Clock News

You won't find a new Father Ted that's like looking for the Holy Grail. Drop the Dead Donkey is great but may have dated due to its topcallity. Phoenix Nights would be my suggestion but you have probably seen that. On the sketch show front 'Big Train' is by the same writers as Father Ted and rather brilliant.

You might enjoy it, it was "created by Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan, the writing partnership most famous for Father Ted, but the scripts were written by Mathews alone"

You could buy the box set of 'Follyfoot Farm' and make your own words up. It would save you a bundle as it's only two quid and while you're chuckling you're learning your craft,it's win win from this end.

Do you mean the kids TV show?? Make words up? I'm a bit confused...

Love Big Train! Best sketch show ever made, hands down.

Why did you have your hands up in the first place? Where you being robbed by a cliche riddled highwayman or did you know the answer to a question being posed?

Were you maybe getting it mixed up with Smack the Pony?
