Rise of the sketches from hell!

PROFESSOR TROUSERS IS STARING OUT OF THE WINDOW OF HIS 1970S STYLE SCIENCE LAB COME HI RISE BLOCK
HIS LOVELY ASSISTANT PENNY SKIRT IS TYPING ON A 1970S STYLE COMPUTER ATTACHED TO A HUGE SPINNING TAPE MACHINE

PROFESSOR TROUSERS
Oh dear God they've invaded, they're everywhere. Oh the horror, oh the humanity.

LA PENNY SKIRT
What is it Professor Trousers? Have the IRA bred a giant 300 foot tall Dana, spraying innocent citizens with all kinds of everything?

PROFESSOR TROUSERS
No my lovely but hopelessly girly assistant, I'm not sure you're fragile feminine brain can take the news.

LA PENNY SKIRT
Is it a giant Bay City Roller crushing all before them into a horrible, bloody, tartan smear?

PROFESSOR TROUSERS
I suppose you're lovely little lady head is sufficiently padded with articles about pelmets, make up and ponies. It's sketches.

LA PENNY SKIRT
Sketches? What hordes of savage Rolf Harrises demanding cowering civilians tell them what they're crude scrawling are?

PROFESSOR TROUSERS
No 2 amateur radio comedy shows have been unleashed onto this fair island. Their light hearted sketches are breading with each other and drowning out all conversation. I can barely make an assinine remark about Dr Who,.

LA PENNY SKIRT
Oh it's easy to make them all vanish. Just sign out of critique.

PROFESSOR TROUSERS
But I might miss something funny. Sootyj might write his 2367th amusing sketch about minor smelling mistakes.

PROFESSOR TROUSERS AND LA PENNY SKIRT BURST OUT LAUGHING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR

LA PENNY SKIRT
Some f**king chance!

PROFESSOR TROUSERS
Fancy a f**k?

LA PENNY SKIRT
Thought you'd never f**king ask!

Of course you could argue that bitchy sketches like this are clogging up critique unnecessarily rather than sketches and gags that are clearly identified by NJ or KI and are therefore easy to skip. But hey, everyone has different ideas about critique.

As for the sketch I liked the Dana line, but is it topical enough?

Is it bitchy? I was merely making fun of 1970s dystopian scifi shows with their limited budgets. And issues of nascent sexual politics.

More a cheery satire on both Doomwatch and UNIT era Dr Who.

Though it does remind me of how I used to stick all my topical skits in one thread.

Dana is becoming a powerful force in eurosceptic, conservative politic in Ireland.

It came across as bitchy to me. Also a bit odd to be having a pop when the reason all those sketches are top of the board is because they've just been given feedback, and you have bemoaned the death of Critique because not enough people post and not enough give feedback.

That's my feedback.

Badge what's the beef?

Eh? It's not really my beef is it? I'm just confused why you are having a pop at sketches for clogging up Critique when they are the only things easily identifiable so that you can ignore them if you want to. There have been enough things in Critique recently that I might have wanted to ignore but opened and wished I hadn't. Perhaps a TT* prefix would help?

*I am not allowed to say what one of the Ts is for because it breaks forum rules.

I have exactly no idea what that last post meant.

I have exactly no idea what that last post meant.

The re-read your sketch.

Why will rereading my sublime words help translate your confusing post?

More to the point why am I arguing with your random and confusing critique of a simple minded bit of fun.

And why do you only note and emphasise a single puckish line that makes passing references to critique fashions.

It's as if by over exagerating a most simple and good natured jape. You actually seek to pass on your more pressing unhappiness with critique.

Thats morally devious if not actually a little cowardly.

Now that *is* offensive. Well done.

The sad thing is the number of posts may confuse people into thinking this is a sketch that has created excitement.

Sod that, you think calling me morally devious and cowardly *isn't* offensive?

No less than calling me bitchy and implying I have a grudge.

Every now and then Badge you leave me genuinely at a loss.

I said the sketch was bitchy. I think it is. Critique the sketch, please.

And where the hell have I implied you have a grudge?

Why would I? You're clearly not.

I simply responding to a rather snide bit of character assassination.

I often hide little critical jokes in my now occaisonal works. You seem to have taken this one line as a stick to beat on me with.

I have no idea why. Do you?
